Dr. Alex Bi has more than 10 years of teaching experience and has been teaching theory and aural skills to students at the University of Maryland, the University of Delaware Community Music School, various music studios, and privately. He is versatile and able to adjust his style of teaching to meet the needs of every student.

Dr. Bi is trained in piano and organ and has rich experience in solo and collaborative piano performances with chamber ensembles, choirs, symphony orchestras, and opera theatres. He has trained with many leading pianists including Dr. Charles Abramovic, Professor Zhihua Tang, Professor Xiaoxue Sun, and Professor Howard Watkins.

As an active composer, Dr. Alex Bi is accomplished in contemporary concert music, cutting-edge audio/video technology, and commercial music for the ever-changing music industry. His compositions span genres including classical, Chinese folk music, world, popular, and jazz, and have been performed internationally by established musicians and artists.
